1. Data controller
The controller responsible for processing personal data on this website under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Michael KrebsRathelbecker Weg 5
40699 Erkrath
Germany
E-mail: info@seitensicht.de
Telephone: 01520 6057975
No data protection officer has been appointed because the statutory conditions requiring one are not met.
2. What this website does
This service analyses websites whose addresses you enter yourself. The requested page is fetched through the server of this website, rather than by your browser. The operator of the checked website therefore sees this server's IP address, not yours.
There are no user accounts or registration. The addresses you enter and the analysis results are not stored. They exist in memory only for the duration of the request and are then discarded.
3. Cookies and consent
The tools do not include analytics services. Your chosen language is saved in the language cookie described below. Advertisements are also provided by Google AdSense (see the next section), and these use cookies.
Consent is collected by Google Privacy & messaging , the consent dialog provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The dialogue is certified according to the Transparency & Consent Framework 2.2 of IAB Europe. Google deliver advertisements to EEA and UK visitors only if consent has been obtained through such dialogue.
To display this dialog, the provider's script is loaded when you visit the page. Advertisements and advertising cookies will only be loaded Only after your consent. The legal basis for storing and accessing information on your device is section 25(1) TDDDG in conjunction with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Loading the dialog itself is based on our legitimate interest in compliant consent management under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Your choice is stored on your device so you do not need to choose again on each visit. You can withdraw consent at any time using “Change consent” in the footer, as easily as you gave it.
4. Saved language preference
When you choose Deutsch or English, we store only this choice in the “seitensicht-language” cookie for one year. The home page will then open in your chosen language on your next visit. The cookie contains no identifier and is not used for tracking. You can change the language at any time or delete the cookie in your browser settings.
5. Advertising
After your consent, advertisements from Google AdSense are displayed, operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Cookies are set and data is sent to the provider, including your IP address, device information and the page visited. Processing may also take place in the United States. Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission issued an adequacy decision under Article 45 GDPR.
The purpose is to finance this free service. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
Other information provided by the provider: Privacy policy and Advertising settings .
6. Recommendations with affiliate links
We occasionally recommend third-party services using affiliate links. If a contract results from such a link, we receive a commission. Your price stays the same. Recommendations are labelled as advertising.
Nothing happens until you click: These are ordinary links. No partner script is loaded, no cookie is set and no information is sent to the partner. Consent under section 25 TDDDG is not required for these links.
Clicking a link takes you away from this website. The partner then receives your IP address, as with any website visit, and may set its own identifier. The partner is responsible for this processing and its privacy policy applies. Our legal basis for providing recommendations is our legitimate interest in financing this free service under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
7. Server logs
When you visit this website, the hosting provider automatically collects information sent by your browser and stores it in logs. This typically includes:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of access
- Requested address and amount of data transferred
- Whether the request succeeded
- Browser type, browser version and operating system
This data is technically necessary to deliver the website, maintain stability and detect abuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation. It is not combined with other data sources. Logs are deleted no later than 30 days after collection.
Hosting is provided by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos, 6023 Larnaca, Zypern. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
8. Request limits
The number of checks per hour is limited to prevent users from overloading the service. The server counts requests from each IP address for this purpose.
This counter exists only in memory, is not written to disk or combined with other data, and is deleted within one hour. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and preventing abuse.
9. Fetching the checked website
To produce an analysis, the server fetches the address you enter, its robots.txt and its XML sitemap, if available. The crawler also fetches internally linked pages on the same domain.
No personal data about you is transmitted. The remote server receives only this server's IP address and the identifier SeoCheckBot’. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in carrying out the analysis you requested.
10. Search engine submission
The “Submit to search engines” tool lets you notify search engines supporting IndexNow about website pages. The server fetches the specified website's home page, robots.txt, XML sitemap and verification file.
When you initiate submission, the server sends the website hostname, submitted page addresses and verification key to your selected search engines. Depending on your selection, recipients include Microsoft (Bing), Yandex, Seznam, Naver, Yep, Internet Archive and Amazon; some are based outside the EU. IndexNow participants share notifications with each other. Your IP address and other data about you are not transmitted.
Nothing is retained: neither the entered address nor the submitted pages are stored. The verification key is recalculated from the hostname for each request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, because you expressly request the submission.
11. Google PageSpeed Insights
Optional measurements using Google PageSpeed Insights are not enabled. No data is sent to Google.
12. HTML validation
To check HTML structure, the source code of the page you entered is sent to the validation service validator.nu . This is publicly available content from the checked website, not data about you.
Your IP address is not sent: this website's server makes the request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in providing the analysis you requested.
13. Contacting us
If you contact us by email, we process your information solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) for contract-related enquiries. Data is deleted once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention requirements apply.
14. Encryption
The website is delivered over a TLS-encrypted connection, indicated by “https://” in your browser's address bar.
15. Your rights
You have the following rights against the controller:
- Access to the data processed (Article 15 GDPR)
- Correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Article 20 GDPR)
- Objecting to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21 GDPR)
To exercise these rights, send an informal message to info@seitensicht.de.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR). The competent authority is Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
16. Automated decision-making
We do not engage in automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. This tool evaluates the technical characteristics of websites, not people.
